Green
teaches at the Central
Sussex College in East Grinstead, in adult education. She also works
for Youth Services in Sussex and for care homes and organisations in the
county. She specialises in Commissions for all artwork - in all mediums!
Having travelled widely, influences and 'flavours' of such exotic places
as India, Australia, and Africa have given an
added excitement to her work. She covers a diverse range of subjects from
fine Pen & Ink drawings, with a love of
animals, tame and wild! - vibrant large paintings
and rustic mosaics, to unusual art work for Graphics through to Photography
and bespoke Wedding stationery, table, window
and Party decorations and Floristry!
From art college Wendy had a variety of jobs, from fashion design to
sales and marketing, returning finally to her first love of Arts and Crafts
in the form of commissioned works and has had several successful exhibitions
leading to Radio interviews and media articles. Wildlife Photography and
travel writing has also led from her travels. "There
is no better inspiration than travelling - seeing the world and it's peoples"
This was brought home to Wendy when she went to live
and work for four years in South Africa in 1991. She was involved in an
orphanage project with youngsters and did some charity work along with some
freelance journalism and wrote a regular column in the 'Cape town news'
She also ran an art studio in Cape Town. "It
was an incredible experience, I was there at the time of the first free
elections, at the end of apartheid so it was a fascinating, wonderful and
sometimes frightening time, one day I'll get around to writing a book about
it!"
She has now also been tutoring privately since
1986 mostly from home with ages 8-80! and still enjoys her regular travels.

"I love to have a challenge in my artwork
and like to do something new and unusual - to find a different slant. Because
I work mostly by Commission I don't have lots of work to show on screen,
but welcome the opportunity to chat to clients about their requirements
and ideas and to visit if possible".
Always aiming to give a personal and professional
service, Wendy offers that 'something different' often lacking in today's
busy world. She uses the skills acquired over the years to enable her
to produce work of a high standard with imagination.
